Real Madrid and Manchester United clash in America over hotel and training pitch- Report

Both teams are camping in Los Angeles, and are training at the University of California campus to be precise for their pre-season. And according to The Mirror, they’ve both had a faceoff even before getting unto the pitch.

Manchester United arrived the United States on Sunday, and thus had the luxury of selecting a better training pitch, the Drake Stadium, which didn’t go down well with the Real Madrid squad who arrived on Tuesday and had to settle for a  less impressive training pitch just about 200 metres away.

According to the report, both teams also had issues with their hotel of choice as both wanted to stay at the famously luxurious Beverly Wilshire hotel.

Manchester United again got their wish, as the Real Madrid contingent had to settle for the Beverly Hills Hotel, which is a mile away.

Here's where Real Madrid are staying

The hostility between both teams may have been further fuelled by strained transfer relationship over the past few seasons.

Real Madrid have been linked with Manchester United’s David de Gea over the past few years, with United unwilling and reluctant to sell.

Manchester United, this summer were linked with a move for Alvaro Morata, had a bid rejected by Real Madrid., who were unwavering in their demand for the striker. United ended up signing Romelu Lukaku.

It is also anticipated that the closeness in their training sites and hotels could again spark Real Madrid’s interest in De Gea.

Both sides will square up in the in the International Champions Cup on July 23, and later in the UEFA Super Cup on August 8.
