Marco Asensio wants Real Madrid stay

Real Madrid rising youngster  Marco Asensio has openly expressed his desire to remain at the Bernabeu amid reports linking him with a move away.

The 21 year old enjoyed a fantastic debut season playing a vital role in Madrid's double win last season.

He started in 11 La Liga matches and scored 10 goals in all competitions. He also came off the bench to score the last goal in the 4-1 Champions League final win over Juventus.

He has been linked with a move to Premier League side Liverpool, but the player says he will fight to become a starter at Madrid.

My intention is to stay at Real Madrid and to earn a lot of minutes.

Asensio said via Fourfourtwo

My goal is to be a starter at Real Madrid.

There were moments when I didn't play, but I wanted to make the most of any chances the coach afforded me and I finished up in good form.

I wasn't used to not playing. Yet I worked hard to make the most of the opportunities I got and I was able to finish the season well.

Seemingly fringe players in the current Madrid setup like Asensio, James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata have been linked with transfer away from Madrid.

Striker Morata has been linked with a move to Manchester United, while the likes of Chelsea and AC Milan are also believed to be interested in the 24 year old.

James Rodriguez has also been linked transfer to Manchester United, but more recently PSG are leading the race for the Colombian.
