Lorenzo Pellegrini picks out Marco Asensio as Spain's star man ahead of Semifinal clash

The Italian youngster at the ongoing European Championship has picked Marco Asensio as one of Spain's most feared player in the competition.

Both teams square up in the semifinals on Tuesday, in a 2013 final rematch. Spain were the first team to book their place in the semifinals after winning their first two matches.

Real Madrid youngster, Asensio started the competition in fine form, scoring a hat-trick in Spain's opening match against Macedonia. Even though the La Roja have the likes of Saul Niguez, Pellegrini personally thinks Asensio's record speaks for himself.

"Asensio is the player that everyone is looking out for." Pellegrini told UEFA.com.

"He has just won the Champions League and plays for probably the best team in the world, so it's understandable that he's the centre of attention. If I had to pick out a player, I'd choose him. But just as Spain have great players, so do we."

Both Asensio and Pellegrini were fantastic for their respective clubs last season.

Pellegrini, who plays for Sassuolo, last season became the youngest player in the Serie A to have a hand in 10 goals in a single season, with six goals and four assists as at April 2017.

Asensio on his part was one of the new homegrown star that was delivered at the Bernabeu, following Real Madrid's double triumph last season. He rounded up a great debut season with a goal in the Champions League final.
