Real Madrid's Diego Llorente joins Real Sociedad

Real Madrid defender Diego Llorente has joined Real Sociedad after agreeing terms on a five year deal.

The 24 year old spent his last two seasons away from the Bernabeu making just two substitute appearances since his move to Madrid in 2012.

Having joined Madrid at age 9, he played for the Real Madrid C and B teams before been loaned out.

In July 2015, the centre back joined Rayo Vallecano on a season long loan, and moved to Málaga on loan for last season. He was one of the key players for Malaga last season, making 25 appearances for the team. 

He made his international debut in May 2016, coming on as a substitute in a friendly against Switzerland.

A statement on Real Sociedad's website confirmed that the player has passed his medicals, agreed a five year deal and will join up with his new teammates on July 7 for the start of their preseason.
