Arbeloa: Ronaldo needs Real Madrid and would not leave

The former Real Madrid and Spanish right back has said the current world footballer of the year needs Real Madrid and wouldn't leave.

There were reports that Ronaldo is set to leave Madrid, after allegations of him evading taxes. The Portuguese is reportedly unhappy about how his club handled the whole saga. He is due to appear in court after the Confederations Cup.

But Arbeloa, who announced his retirement from football recently doesn't see Ronaldo leaving.

Cristiano is going to stay. 

He told Marca.

Above all, Cris is smart and he knows he needs Real Madrid. He has achieved the league and the Champions League with them and is at the best team in the world.

Since moving to Real Madrid in 2009, Ronaldo has won three FIFA Ballon d'Or awards, three Champions League titles, two La Liga titles and many other club and personal honours.
