Watch: Ronaldo scores hat-trick in Portugal win

Cristiano Ronaldo scored three goals and assisted one as Portugal ran riot over Faroe Islands in a World Cup qualifier match with a 5-1 win. 

Ronaldo, currently suspended in the league for Real Madrid was named UEFA player of the year last Thursday. 

He opened scoring in the 2nd minute with a spectacular scissors kick to give Portugal an early lead.

Ronaldo doubled Portugal's lead from the penalty spot after Joao Mario was fouled in the box. Rógvi Baldvinsson pulled one back for visitors few minute before half time. 

The Real Madrid forward provided the assist for William Carvalho, who scored Portugal's third goal before completing his hat-trick in the 63rd minute with a simple finish. Olivera's goal twenty minutes later sealed a comfortable win for Portugal who are second in their World Cup qualifier group, three points behind Switzerland. 

Ronaldo is Portugal's all time highest goal scorer with 78 international goals. This hat-trick is Ronaldo's fifth for Portugal.
