Morata Vs Benzema: Stats reveals Spaniard is a better poacher
If reports are anything to go by, then Real Madrid were close to losing Alvaro Morata to United. The 24 year old has been closely linked with a move to United, but the Old Trafford club surprisingly agreed a deal for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku,
after coming close to agreeing a deal for Morata.
The main reason for Morata's possible departure is the lack of adequate playing time. Morata was Madrid's second choice striker behind Karim Benzema for most of last season.
With the World Cup fast approaching, Morata knows he has to play regularly to make the Spanish squad to the World Cup and stand a chance of emerging as Spain's first choice striker to the mundial.

In all, stats shows that Morata scored 20 goals in 40 appearances for Madrid last season, compared to Benzema's record of 17 in 46 matches.
Averagely, Morata has a record of one goal in two matches. He is also the team's second highest goal scorer in the La Liga last season, just behind C. Ronaldo.
It may be therefore right to say, Morata is a better goal poacher than Benzema based on last season's record.
Real Madrid must therefore think twice before selling Morata. His departure could pave the way for Mbappe's arrival. A deal for Mbappe will however cost in the region of 100 million Euros.
The big question is will the club spend such a huge amount on a developing youngster in Mbappe to become a second choice striker? Will Mbappe come into the team and displace Benzema?
Maybe its time for the managing crew should pick who starts from the team based on records and stats.
