Arsenal preparing late Marco Asensio bid - Report

Real Madrid may have to brace up for a late mega bid from Arsenal for youngster Marco Asensio.

Asensio has been a revelation since making his debut for Real Madrid last season, as he scored 10 goals in all competitions, scoring the last goal in the 4-1 Champions League final against Juventus back in May.

Asensio enjoyed a fantastic Under-21 European Championship, where he won the silver ball award as the second best player in the competition. And has had a great start to this season, scoring a super goal against Barcelona in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup.

He has attracted interest from a number of top European sides and Arsenal at the latest.

According to Neil Fissler in the Sunday Express, Arsenal are prepared to offer £75m for the 20 year old before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

The £75m to be offered by the Gunners will meet the current buyout clause in Asensio's contract, though Real Madrid will most likely turn down any offer.

Real Madrid have already sold Alvaro Morata to Chelsea, and allowed James Rodriguez leave for Bayern on a two year loan.

According to Marca, Real Madrid are prepared to offer Asensio a new deal that will see his buyout clause increased to €500m. The player is yet to sign such deal. His current deal with Real Madrid runs till 2022.
