Florentino Pérez meets with Mbappe's family as Madrid continues chase - Report
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has reportedly met with members of Kylian Mbappé's family as the club continues their chase of the player.
After a great debut season, in which the 18 year old scored 15 league goals to help Monaco to their first league title in over a decade, Mbappe has become one of the most wanted strikers in European football. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, PSG and Real Madrid have all been linked with moves for the player.
Last week, L'Équipe reported that Madrid manager Zidane has held talks with Mbappe in a bid to convince him to move to Spain.
That report has however been negated by another French media outfit Téléfoot.
According to Téléfoot, Florentino Pérez not Zidane met with members of Mbappe's family during the friendly match between France and England at the Stade de France on June 13. The purpose of the meeting was to convince that player's family members that a move to Madrid was the next big step for the player.INFO TELEFOOT: Il y a eu un contact entre le clan Mbappé et Florentino Perez mais pas de discussion Mbappé-Zidane #realmadrid #mercato pic.twitter.com/8uwtoRcxrF— Téléfoot (@telefoot_TF1) June 25, 2017
Spanish outlet Marca reported days ago that, Monaco have rejected a €100m bid from Liverpool for Mbappe, as the French side plan to do all within their reach to keep the forward.
A bid in the region of €115m and the player's willingness to move to the bidding club may however see Mbappe change club.
Pérez is widely regarded for his ability to broker great and expensive football transfers. But he is yet to make a big statement with his transfers since the €80 signing of James Rodriguez in 2014.
Can Mbappe open the window for another set of galaticos? Only time will tell.
