Chelsea unwilling to meet Real Madrid's asking price for Rodriguez

The Premier League champions are one of the clubs interested in James Rodriguez, but according to reports from London, they are not meeting up with Real Madrid's demand for the player.

Rodriguez, 25 has been a peripheral member of the Real Madrid first squad since Zidane took charge last year. He has since been linked with an exit from the club. Despite his reduced playing time, the Colombian has enjoyed a highly successful last two seasons at Madrid, winning two Champions League and the La Liga.

He made 22 league appearances last season, starting 13 times, but been left out of the squad for the Champions League final is a huge statement of his current status at the club.

Rodriguez joined Madrid for £63m three years ago and the club will not allow him leave for cheap.

According to London Evening standard , Real Madrid are demanding for £70m for the player, an amount Chelsea are unwilling to pay.

Arsenal, Manchester United and PSG have all been linked with moves for Rodriguez. And with the transfer window not closing anytime soon, a James Rodriguez move away from the Bernabeu is still very much possible.
