Dani Carvajal reacts to Alvaro Morata exit rumours
Dani Carvajal said leaving Real Madrid could be the 'best option' for striker Alvaro Morata, who had been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu.
The Spanish international has attracted interest from the likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United. Manchester United have submitted a bid for the striker which is currently been considered by the Real Madrid hierarchy.
Morata had been Madrid's second choice striker behind Karim Benzema, but scored more goals than the Frenchman despite playing lesser number of matches.
With the World Cup around the corner, Carvajal will understand if Morata leaves for another club, to get more playing time and boost his chances of playing at the biggest footballing event.
“I put in the shoes of a player who doesn’t play that much and want to enjoy the World Cup and sometimes the best option could be leaving or not. You never know, but he always seeks the best for him”. Carvajal told Spanish TV Movistar.
A move to Europa League winners, Manchester United looks more likely for Morata.
First it offers him the opportunity to team up with former manager, José Mourinho, and a number of possible teammates at national level with United already having a Spanish contingent which include Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and David de Gea.
Also United will offer Morata the chance of playing more often, at least better than what he enjoyed at Madrid. The Manchester based club have released top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is currently out injured, and are in dire need of a quality centre forward.
