Tottenham 3-1 Real Madrid: The stats you should know
Real Madrid's poor start to the season continued at Wembley, as they were outclassed a by determined and brilliant Tottenham display led by the returning Dele Ali on a memorable night.
The Englishman, making his first appearance in this season's Champions League scored the first two goals of the night; Christian Eriksen added the third before a consolation goal by Cristiano Ronaldo 10 minutes from time.
The home side also welcomed back Harry Kane, who has missed Spurs' last two games - both matches ended in defeats.
Tottenham started the game on a brilliant note and Real Madrid were the second best for most of the game. The North London side took the lead in the 27 minute when Dele Ali fired home from a Kieran Trippier's cross. Ali then doubled the lead at the start of the second half when his shot took a deflection off Sergio Ramos to beat Kiko Casilla in goal. Eriksen's cool finish from a Tottenham counter-attack in the 65 minute meant Real Madrid needed something magical to get a point or more from the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner in the 80 minute gave the visitors a lifeline, but that was the end of goal scoring action in the match.
