Gareth Bale sets new British record at Madrid
He has gone beyond David Beckham, who previously held
the record with 159 appearances for Real Madrid. Former Manchester United star,
Beckham played for Madrid between 2003 and 2007, scoring 20 goals.
Bale has however scored 70 goals for Real Madrid since
joining the club in 2013 and has won 11 titles.
The third most capped British player for Real Madrid is
Steve McManaman with 158 caps. The legendary midfielder spent four seasons at
the club, scored 14 goals and won 7 titles.
