Real Madrid not thinking of signing Harry Kane - Florentino Perez

Real Madrid director Florentino Perez has said the Tottenham star will command a world record fee, adding that the thought of signing the 24 year old 'has never passed through his head.'

Kane has established himself as one of the most feared and effective striker in European football over the last few years, and has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu. This is coming at a time Real Madrid's top striker Karim Benzema is under a lot of pressure for his recent below par display, Perez has however backed the Frenchman.

Signing Harry Kane has not passed through my head. He is a great player and in addition he is young.

Perez told Spanish radio station, Cadena COPE.

He has many years to progress, but we are delighted with [Karim] Benzema and with all of the team.

I didn’t ask Tottenham’s president for the price because he would have told me that he is worth €250m.

Both clubs have a good transfer history. Real Madrid signed Luka Modric and the then world most expensive player Gareth Bale from the London side.

Despite experiencing a goalless August, Kane has scored 13 goals in his last 12 matches, and he will once again be at the centre stage of things when Real Madrid visit Wembley for their Champions League match day 4 group game against Spurs.
