Real Madrid 1-1 Tottenham: The stats you should know


Tottenham Hotspur moved ahead of Madrid at the top of Group H on goals as both teams could only settle for a draw at the Bernabeu. 

Real Madrid had won 21 and drawn just 2 of their last 23 home matches in the Champions League, and the defending champions were slight favorite coming into the match.

The Los Blancos have been unconvincing defensively in most of their matches this season, and Spurs boss Pochettino showed brevity by starting Spanish striker Fernando Llorente up front alongside star forward Harry Kane.

The London side took the lead when Raphael Varane scored an own goal from a Serge Aurier's cross under pressure from Harry Kane. Parity was however restored when Aurier fell Toni Kroos in the box. Cristiano Ronaldo equalised from the resulting penalty.
