Girona 2-1 Real Madrid: The stats you should know
Real Madrid lost more ground in the race to defend the La Liga title they won last season as the team suffered an embarrassing loss to newly promoted side Girona.
Isco gave Real Madrid the lead in the 12th minute tapping in from close range.
The visitors however, couldn't match the intensity of the hosts in the second half as ex-Middlesbrough striker Cristhian Stuani scored the equaliser nine minutes into the second half, and Midfielder Portu scored the winner four minutes later.
The defeat leaves Real Madrid eight points behind table-toppers Barcelona, with just 10 matches played. Valencia are second, four points ahead of Zidane's men. The Los Blancos are just one goal better off city rivals Atletico Madrid in fourth place, as both teams are level on points.
