Girona 2-1 Real Madrid: Fans react
Champions Real Madrid suffered a huge setback in their course to defend the La Liga title they won last season as they lost to newly promoted Girona on Sunday. The defeat ended Madrid's four-match winning streak in the league and saw them go third, eight points behind arch-rivals Barcelona and four behind second-place Valencia.
It is the first league meeting between the Los Blancos and the Catalan side, who are enjoying a great debut season in the top flight of Spanish football.
Isco scored in the first half, but two second-half two goals from Cristhian Stuani and Midfielder Portu saw Madrid slump to their second league defeat this season.
Here's how fans on Twitter reacted to the outcome of the match:
This can’t be blamed on one player or Zizou, the whole team played bad except for Varane & Isco. But there’s a deeer problem.— TheCRonaldoFan (@TheCRonaldoFan) October 29, 2017

We’re 8 points behind Barca without even playing them, Atletico, Sevilla, Athletic HOME OR AWAY. Not to mention we still have Valencia A— TheCRonaldoFan (@TheCRonaldoFan) October 29, 2017

Mid-week we bragged about them being in the ideal XI
Today we wonder where they went.
Yes we lost because of an offside goal but the performance tonight was abysmal. Possibly the worst since Zidane became manager.— Real Madrid Stats (@RMadrid_Stats) October 29, 2017
And this from a La Liga expert and pundit
R. Madrid have stopped doing a lot of stuff they did last season. Not only they are less effective, their work rate is poor, bench is worse— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) October 29, 2017
All fingers point to Zidane & the board, the awful transfer window is evident today but the players are the most to blame.— TheCRonaldoFan (@TheCRonaldoFan) October 29, 2017
