Real Madrid turned down opportunity to sign wantaway Arsenal playmaker - Report

Arsenal forward Alexis Sánchez, was linked with a move away from the Gunners for most of the summer, with Manchester City his most likeliest destination. City and Arsenal couldn't reach a late agreement, and hence the Chilean will remain an Arsenal player, at least for one more season.

It has however been revealed that Real Madrid voluntarily rejected an opportunity to sign the 28 year old,  who was offered to Florentino Perez for €75m during the closing hours of the transfer window.

As Arsenal and Manchester City were million of pounds away in their negotiation and valuation of Sánchez, the player's agent made a last dash, offering the player to Real Madrid according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon.

Zidane however said no to such a move, while Florentino Perez kept talks open by telling the player's camp that Real Madrid may be interested in the player next summer when he becomes a free agent according to the report.

Sanchez joined Arsenal from Barcelona and has been Arsenal's most outstanding player for the past few seasons. He is however frustrated with life at the North London side and pushed for a move away from the FA Cup holders this summer.
