Real Madrid favorite for Dortmund clash - Exclusive with ESPN's Stefan Buczko
Real Madrid will be seeking for their second win in a row in all competitions, when they face German side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League matchday 2.
Defeats against Real Sociedad and Real Betis have tinted their great start to this season which has seen the Los Blancos lifted the UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup. Zidane's men are seven points behind Barcelona with just six matches into the domestic season in Spain.

We asked Stefan Buczko, who covers Borussia Dortmund for ESPN in an e-mail interview about his views on the match and the chances of Aubameyang joining Real Madrid. Stefan is also the Editor-in-chief of The Yellow Wall.
The Champions League group H, containing Real Madrid, Dortmund, Tottenham and APOEL has been dubbed the group of death. What's your opinion on the group?
It's a very tough group because one of Real Madrid, Dortmund and Tottenham will eventually have to play in the Europa League although chances are that all three teams would progress in another group.
It's a group where mistakes are costly and even Real Madrid cannot take it lightly as they did
last year.
last year.
Dortmund host Real Madrid with both teams experiencing contrast form in their respective leagues. Dortmund currently top the Bundesliga table while Real are seven points behind rivals Barcelona. Do you think this would give Dortmund an edge going into the match?
Maybe form is slightly with Dortmund going into this match but Real Madrid are still favourites to win this match. Especially, because BVB apply a very high line under Peter Bozs. It will be interesting to see how comfortable Los Blancos will be with a team of Dortmund's quality pressing them high up the pitch.
However, even though the Ruhr side have been great in the Bundesliga, they are extremely susceptible to counter-attacks, which should make things a bit easier for Tuesday's guests. Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio all have exhilarating pace and the skill to score once they get in behind Dortmund's defence, which I think will happen a few times.
Dortmund lost their first match away at Tottenham on matchday one. A decent result is a must coming into this match to boost their qualifying chances, do you think this will bring pressure on the home side?
Yes, Dortmund need a result against Real Madrid or their chances of making second place are very slim. It wouldn't be the end of the world but it would be a disappointment for the Black and Yellows, who topped a group including Real Madrid last year.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been at the heart of Dortmund's success so far this season with eleven goals in all competitions. Against a Real Madrid defence that has struggled for form in recent matches, do you think he can make the difference?
Aubameyang has scored in his last two games against Real Madrid and there is little reason to think that he won't on Tuesday.
It should be a great match for neutrals with goals aplenty on both sides. Even if Dortmund get caught on the counterattack, they should produce a goal or two at the other end for sure.
In their 6-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, the Westphalians showed that they can score in many ways: Counter-attacks, through balls, wing-play, set-pieces and goals from distance. I can't imagine Real Madrid's defence keeping a clean sheet.
Aubameyang has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent times, and the player hasn't his desire to make the switch if that opportunity presents itself, what are the chances of he becoming a Real Madrid player?
"I have no dream. I shall no longer speak of Madrid. They don't want me. This is not a problem. I move on. I am well in Dortmund," Aubamyang recently said in an interview.
He probably would join Real Madrid as soon as they come asking but the interest in signing the 28-year-old striker seems to have vanished in Madrid.
Thanks for your time.
