Mbappé joins PSG, father opens up why he didn't move to Real Madrid

Paris St-Germain have announced the signing of highly wanted AS Monaco forward Kylian Mbappé on a season long loan deal ending on June 30 2018. The deal includes an option for PSG to make the move permanent, siging the player on a four year deal that will run to  June 30, 2022.

Manchester City, Real Madrid, PSG and a number of other top European clubs were linked to the 18 year old for most part of this summer. Monaco had always been reluctant on letting the striker leave, and once threatned to report intruding clubs to FIFA.

The French Champions have however agreed to let the youngster leave for a potential fee of  £165.7m. The deal will make him the second most expensive player in football, more expensive than C. Ronaldo and Bale, and only behind another PSG star, Neymar.

Mbappe and Real Madrid have always had the possibility of uniting,  and the player could have joined the Real Madrid academy if Zidane was in charge for a little longer.
Mbappe's father has revealed that his son could have joined Real Madrid and not Monaco, if he was going to be under the tutlage of Zidane.

We had plenty of meetings with Monsieur Zidane but from the moment he became assistant coach to the first team I believed that he'd not have the right amount of time for Kylian.

Mbappe's father said via ESPN.

If Zidane had stayed in charge of recruiting and looking after young talent like Kylian, we'd probably just have joined Madrid instead of Monaco.

The possibility of Mbappe joining Real Madrid this summer increased after the sale of Alvaro Morata to Chelsea, but that won't be happenng.
