Isco's double lift Spain against Italy

Isco was the star of the night as Spain defeated Italy 3-0 to boost their chances of securing a top of the group qualification for Russia 2018.

Spain started the game with four Real Madrid players in the starting eleven. Defenders Sergio Ramos and Carvajal started at centre back and right back respectively. Isco and Marco Asensio started in an attacking lineup that lacked an outright striker.

The game played at the Santiago Bernabeu made the Real Madrid players especially Isco feel at home.

In a rather surprising act, Sergio Ramos took Spain's first free kick in an attacking position. But few minutes later, Isco took the kick from a similar position and made no mistake, delivering a scintillating ball to beat the veteran Gianluigi Buffon in goal to give Spain the lead in the 13th minute.

Spain continued to dominate, and Isco was brilliant all night with impressive movements on and off the ball. He doubled the lead in the 40th minute as he received  the ball from Andres Iniesta, created space for himself, and fired into the left bottom corner of the net.

Former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata scored the third few minutes after coming on. Isco later received a standing ovation as he was substituted for the David Villa late into the second half.

Isco has now scored five international goals in 21 appearances. This performance will further cement his place in the Spanish starting eleven.
