Three Real Madrid players to miss Valencia clash
The duo of Raphael Varane and Matteo Kovacic returned to training with the rest of the squad on Friday, after missing the friendly against Fiorentina on Wednesday. Both players face the race against time to be available for the Valencia match on Sunday.
Sergio Ramos was sent off in Real Madrid's season opener against Deportivo and will miss the match.
UEFA player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo will also miss the match due to suspension. This will be the second La Liga game he will be missing for shoving the referee in the first leg Spanish Super Cup match against Barcelona. He still has two more matches to miss.
Defender Jesus Vallejo will also miss the match due to injury. And no return date is fixed for his return.
Varane's return to training comes at a vital time as he would have to partner another player at centre back as Ramos misses out.
Other than this trio, Zidane has close to a full squad to select from going into the match.
