Real Madrid pay tribute to victims of Barcelona attack before training

As the world continue to throw its support behind the City of Barcelona and victims of the  Barcelona attack, players and coaching staff of Real Madrid have not been left behind. 

The players and coaches held a minute silence in honour of the victims of the Barcelona attack today before training.

Thirteen people died and many more were injured when a van ploughed into crowds in Barcelona's famous Las Ramblas area, Catalan police and local officials say.

"Real Madrid C. F. would like to express its deepest sorrow regarding the attack which has taken place in the city of Barcelona and the club stands together with the victims, their families and their friends. It also hopes for the quickest possible recovery to all those injured in the incident." The club said in an official statement released just hours after the attack was confirmed.

Several Real Madrid players have also sent their condolence messages on various social media platforms.

'Dismayed at the news coming from Barcelona. All the support and solidarity the family and friends of the victims.' Cristiano Ronaldo tweeted.

The Portuguese also posted a picture of the Real MAdrid squad holding a minute silence.





'Much strength to the city of Barcelona in these times so hard. We are with you.' Casemiro posted on Twitter.



'Barcelona.Not terrorism. No to the dictatorship of fear.' Sergio Ramos tweeted.
