Marcelo and Casemiro called up by Brazil for World Cup qualifiers


Real Madrid duo  Casemiro and Marcelo have been named by Brazil coach Tite in the squad for their next set of qualifiers.

Brazil,  the first team to qualify for the World Cup host Ecquador on August 31, before travelling to Colombia for another match on Septermber 5.

Brazil are nine points clear on top of their World Cup qualifying group with 10 wins, 3 draws and just one defeat in their 14 World Cup qualifiers played so far. Manager Tite has led the team to eight straight wins in their last eight qualifiers since his appointment in June 2016.

It is a strong Brazillan squad that includes the likes of PSG's  Neymar, Liverpool's Coutinho and Chelsea's Willian.

The players will leave Madrid after the La Liga match against Valencia on August 27, and will hope to return in time for the match against Levante, four days after their match against Colombia.

The Brazil squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Alisson (AS Roma), Cássio (Corinthians - BRA), Éderson (Manchester City)

Defenders: Dani Alves (PSG), Fagner (Corinthians - BRA), Filipe Luis (Atlético Madrid), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Marquinhos (PSG), Miranda (Inter Milan), Rodrigo Caio (São Paulo - BRA), Thiago Silva (PSG)

Midfielders: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Giuliano (Zenit), Luan (Grêmio - BRA), Paulinho (Guangzhou Evergrande - CHN), Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Willian (Chelsea)

Forwards: Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), Neymar (PSG), Taison (Shakhtar Donetsk)

Casemiro has started the season on a great form after his spectacular display in the 2-1 UEFA Cup win over Manchester United. His  goal against Napoli has just been nominated for the UEFA goal of the season award.
