Zidane wishes Morata good luck ahead of Chelsea move
The Real Madrid manager has sent his good will message to Alvaro Morata, as the striker is set to complete his move to Chelsea.
Both teams announced on Wednesday that a deal has been reached that will see Morata join the Premier League champions, and the player immediately flew to London for his medicals.
The 24 year old was Real Madrid's second highest goal scorer last season with 20 goals in all competitions. But was the team's second choice striker behind Karim Benzema.
He was closely linked with a move to Manchester United this summer. However both clubs couldn't reach an agreement, and United signed Lukaku instead.
Now almost a Chelsea player, Zidane respects the fact that the player had to make a decision.
We wish him all the luck in the world - except against Madrid.
Zidane told ESPN Mexico via Marca.
In the end, we know that this is his home, he has been here all his whole life.
He has to make decisions and so he has decided to go to another club.
With Morata's departure, Real Madrid have lost an impressive goal scorer and it remains to be seen if the club will replace him with another player.
One striker that has been linked with a move to Madrid all summer is Monaco's Kylian Mbappe. Zidane admitted that the French youngster is a good player, but refuses to be drawn into deeper conversion about the player.
He's a very good player, he's shown that all year, but he's not my player, I cannot tell you any more.
Monaco have however raised an alarm that top clubs European clubs are approaching Mbappe without the club's permission, and threatened to report the matter to FIFA. Clubs like Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been linked with the 18 year old.
