Ronaldo is staying at Real Madrid - Zidane

The Real Madrid manager has assured fans that Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at the club.

The BBC reports at the start of the Confederations Cup last month that the Portuguese was unhappy at the club and wants to leave. The reason for the player's displeasure at Madrid was the tax evasion accusation laid on him by Spanish tax authorities.

Ronaldo was instantly linked with a return to Manchester United and was also linked with a move to PSG. Zidane has however quashed such rumours.

In the end, Cristiano is one of us.

Zidane told ESPN.

He's going to stay with us. And that's it. He's on holiday as of today. He's resting, as he's deserved it. We wait for him to finish his holiday and join us.

Ronaldo is not currently with the Real Madrid squad in America for pre-season. He was granted extended break because of his participation in the Confederations Cup.

He also will not feature for Real Madrid against Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup on August 8.
