Zidane confirms Danilo exit
Just when we as Real Madrid fans were thinking that Manchester City's purchase of Monaco left back Mendy will end their pursuit of Danilo, Zidane has confirmed that the Brazilian is all but gone.
Manchester City and Chelsea have been rumoured to be interested in the 26 year old. With City ahead in the chasing pack.
Pep Guardiola's side signed Tottenham right back Kyle Walker earlier this month and have agreed a deal to sign Mendy from Monaco. They also have won the battle to sign Danilo.
The deal taking Danilo to Manchester City is worth €30m, and Zidane is considering using the market to fortify the squad.
We are always considering the market.
Zidane said via ESPN.
Danilo is gone now, Alvaro too. I am not saying we lack a forward. [But] we have one less than last season, but we will see how we manage that. We have to see what we can do."
The players who have left are very good. And some other young players are coming in. But we always try and improve the squad.
The deal taking Danilo to City hasn't been confirmed by either club officially. His anticipated exit will increase the number of high profile departures from the current Real Madrid squad to five.
Defenders Pepe and Fabio Coentrao, have left this summer, same as James Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata. Now Danilo is on his way out of the Bernabeu.
