Real Madrid drop to third as most valuable football team

Real Madrid have lost their position as the most valuable football team in the world, dropping two places to third in a new list released by financial magazine Forbes.

Real Madrid, ranked as the most valuable football team in the world for the last four years, have now been overtaken by Manchester United and Barcelona in the latest ranking. 

Europa League winner, Manchester United is the world most valuable football team, with an estimated worth of $3.69 billion. But were ranked third on the Forbes' annual list of the world’s most valuable sports team.

NFL side Dallas Cowboys, with an estimated worth of $4.2 billion is the world’s most valuable sports team, while American Baseball side New York Yankees, with an estimated $3.7 billion, ranked second.

Barcelona, with an estimated worth of $3.64 billion is  the second most valuable football team in the world, but forth most valuable sports team in the world.

Real Madrid, estimated at $3.58 billion is the third most valuable football team, and fifth most valuable sports team in the world.
