Marco Asensio named in Euro U-21 team of the tournament, wins silver boot award
Marco Asensio ended the European Under-21 championship with double honours. Despite the 1-0 final loss to Germany, the young Spanish side showed lot of promise, and had a number of players destined to rule the world of football in the future.
Three players from the Spanish team, including Marco Asensio were included in the team of the tournament for their impressive showing. Atletico Madrid starlet Saul Niguez, and Real Betis midfielder, Dani Ceballos were the other two Spaniards that made the competition’s best eleven.

The Real Madrid star also won the Silver Boot award. Asensio scored three goals, same as Portugal’s Bruma, but piped the Portuguese by virtue of having one assist to his credit. Asensio scored a hat-trick in Spain’s opening game against Macedonia and was impressive all through the completion.
Fellow Spaniard, and Real Madrid target Dani Ceballos was named Player of the Tournament, while Saul Niguez won the adidas golden boot award. The Atletico Madrid midfielder scored five goals.
In all six German players, three Spanish players and one Slovakian player made the team of the tournament.
Asensio, enjoyed a fantastic last season with Real Madrid, winning the double. He scored 10 goals in all competitions for Madrid last season.
