Marco Asensio rated seventh best Under 21 footballer in the world

From scoring on his Real Madrid debut, scoring in the Champions League final to winning the double with the Los Blancos in his first full season, its been undoubtedly a great year for Marco Asensio.

To add another feather to his cap, the 21 year old has been named among the 50 most promising under 21 footballers in the world. The list released by The Telegraph ranked Asensio the seventh most promising youngster in the world.

Asensio scored a hat-trick in Spain's opening match of the ongoing U-21 European Championship against Macedonia. He has been an integral part of the squad.

Top on the list is French youngster Kylian Mbappe who has emerged as a target for Real Madrid.

Right behind Asensio is another Madrid target in AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, in eighth. The 18 year old has emerged as one of the best young goalkeeper in European football, and recently turned down a new deal at the San Siro. He is in line to replace the  legendary Gianluigi Buffon.

The other two players related to Real Madrid on the list are Theo Hernandez and Vincius Junior.

Theo Hernandez, is Real Madrid's first signing this summer. The 19 year old left back joins from Atletico Madrid, having spent last season on loan at Alaves. He is ranked 20th on the list. His transfer to Madrid is expected to be made official this week after undergoing his Real Madrid medical three weeks ago.

Brazilian Vincius Junior, 16 dubbed the next Neymar is the player Real Madrid paid a whooping €45m for last month.

The Flamengo forward is highly rated and will join Real Madrid earliest in July 2018. He was ranked 39th on the list.
