Gareth Bale returns to training ahead of Champions League final

The Welsh winger has returned to training, and should be available for the Champions League final against Juventus on Saturday. His return add to the selection dilemma Zidane faces as Real Madrid seek to become the first team to retain the Champions League title.

Bale has been out since April, when he suffered a muscle problem in the El-Clasico against Barcelona.

Bale has struggled this season with injuries, and in his absence, Isco has been a regular. He's made 19 appearances in the League this season, and has featured 26 times in all competitions for Real Madrid this season.

Isco in contrast has made 38 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid this campaign.

Bale is however not the only player making a return from injury for the final. Right back Dani Carvajal has returned to training.

A statement from the club's website read thus:

The team have continued preparations for the Champions League final, which will be played on Saturday 3rd June, against Juventus.

Zidane called on the entire squad for the second training session of the week. Bale and Carvajal joined the group, along with Cristiano Ronaldo. The Whites, joined by Castilla player Enzo, carried out a session in which ball work was the main focus. The players also worked on control and passing, and pressing and possession.

Real Madrid are on course to win the double after the Los Blancos clinched the La liga title on the last day of the season.
