Gareth Bale returns to training ahead of FIFA Club World Cup opener

Gareth Bale joined the rest of the squad as they trained for the first time in Abu Dhabi in preparation for the team's semi-final clash with Al Jazira on Wednesday.

An official statement from the club's website reads:

The Real Madrid squad have now completed their first training session in Abu Dhabi. Zinedine Zidane worked with all 24 of the players who have travelled to Abu Dhabi.

The Welshman missed the 5-0 win over Sevilla this weekend, as he was recovering from a calf injury.

The 28 year old last featured for Real Madrid in the 2-2 draw against Fuenlabrada in the Copa del Rey round of 32. He came off the bench to assist the two goals scored by his team.

His return to training means Zidane has a full squad to select from for the opening game of the FIFA Club World Cup.  Zidane could also play the front three of Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale at some point in the competition.

The Los Blancos are aiming to become the first team to win the competition back to back.
