Tottenham 3-1 Real Madrid: Player ratings: Another total collapse

Kiko Casilla

Beaten thrice. Could have done better for the second goal. (5)

Achraf

The youngster had a lot of the ball, but his crosses weren't connecting frequently as they should.  (5)

Nacho

He was a combination of both good and bad on the night. Did well against Kane on some occasions, but again was far from convincing at times. (4)

Sergio Ramos

Alert, and made some vital blocks and tackles in the opening 10 minutes, but lost momentum as Real Madrid conceded the goals. His deflection led to the second goal. His performance was summed up late on when he was booked for applauding the referee. (4)

Marcelo

He had his work cutout against the Tottenham right back Trippier. The Englishman had a more effective commanding presence on the left wing. Marcelo had a lot of the ball, he was tactically rendered unproductive. (5)

Casemiro

Tracked back a number of times to make some important blocks and tackles at the start of the game, but lost steel and verve. He was easily beaten for the Spurs' third goal. (4)

Toni Kroos

The German failed to match up with the opposing midfielders in terms of work rate. (4)

Luka Modric

On his return to London to face his former side, Modric couldn't match up with the likes of Eriksen and Winks. (4)

Isco

The Spanish attacker looked dangerous on some occasions. He created a couple of chances, and had two shots on target. (6)

Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese star was Real's most effective player on the pitch on an eventful night. He made some brilliant moves, but his teammates couldn't play along with him. He scored a consolation goal, to further boost his goal scoring record in the competition. (6)

Karim Benzema

The Frenchman was well marked out by the Tottenham defenders. He was only sparingly present in the Tottenham box. His linkup play looked good on some occasions, but the goals were lacking. (5)

Substitutes

Marco Asensio

Had a lot of the ball, but in less dangerous areas. His movement was well restricted and didn't have huge effect on the game. (5)

Borja Mayoral

Played a part in the goal scored by Ronaldo and that was about all from the young forward. (5)

Theo Hernandez

Came on too late. (No Rating)
