Manchester United to make third bid for Real Madrid star
Manchester united are prepared to make a third bid for Gareth Bale, as the Old Trafford giants are optimistic they can sign the Welshman next summer.
Bale missed has struggled for form and with injuries over
the past two seasons at Madrid, and this has led to speculations that he could
be sold if Madrid gets the right offer. The 28 year old missed a good part of
last season, including the Champions League final played in his country. He
last played for Real Madrid this season back in September, as he suffered a calf
muscle injury in the game against Dortmund.
Madrid confirmed last Thursday
that Bale has suffered another setback in his recovery, even though Zidane said
he expects him to be back with the squad within the next four days.
United missed out on Bale in 2013 when he moved from
Tottenham to Real Madrid for a world record £85m, and have since been
constantly linked with the player. Jose Mourinho
last season voiced out his interest in Bale, admitting he will fight with other
managers for Bale's signature, but conceded that Madrid were not willing to
sell.
According to The Mirror, United are undeterred in their
pursuit, and believe they can manage Bale effectively, not minding his injury
record at Madrid.
The report says 'Real have grown tired of Bale’s ongoing
injury issues and are believed to be ready to offload the Wales star next
summer.' But despite the willingness to sell, potential suitors must come close
to the £85 million Real Madrid paid for Bale.
