David Beckham targeting Cristiano Ronaldo for MLS move - Report
They both have so much in common, having played for Manchester United adorning the number 7 shirt.
While Becks is a former Real Madrid player, Ronaldo is a key player in the current Real Madrid setup. Beckham left Madrid for the MLS in America, and may be preparing to lure Ronaldo to do same.
Beckham was one of the first European super stars to move to the MLS. The former England captain joined LA Galaxy from Real Madrid in 2007, and spent five years at the club.
David Beckham is expected to announce the launch an MLS team latter this month, having played for LA Galaxy himself.
The former England captain as a co-owner of the new Miami based franchise wants to bring some of the biggest names in European football to America. And Ronaldo perfectly fits into the bill according to the Mirror.
MLS commissioner Don Garber has confirmed that Beckham will soon get the final go ahead to start his Miami based MLS team.
Ronaldo, 32 was linked with the exit door at the Bernabeu this summer after allegations of tax evasion. He was also given a five match ban for pushing the referee in the first leg of the Super Cup clash with Barcelona, which also infuriated him.
Ronaldo's latest deal at Real Madrid was signed last year and will keep him at the club till 2021. That should keep Ronaldo at Real till his 36th birthday if he serves out the deal and will mark his 12 year stay at the club.
Ronaldo has spoken of his desire to play into his early 40's.
“It is not my last contract, I want to keep going until I’m 41 but now the most important thing is this special moment that makes me happy and my family, too." He said after signing his latest deal.
