Zidane reacts to Ronaldo exit talks

The Real Madrid manager is confident that Cristiano Ronaldo will be staying at Real Madrid for the foreseeable future, despite rumours of the 32 year old not being happy at the club.

News emerged this summer that Ronaldo was considering leaving Real Madrid after the tax evasion allegations levelled against him by Spanish tax authorities.

Ronaldo was sent off in the first leg Super Cup match against Barcelona, and was given a five match ban for pushing the referee, which further boost news of a supposed exit.

The reigning UEFA player of the year will miss the match against Valencia, the third in his five match ban, and Zidane is sure Ronaldo is going nowhere.

Cristiano is here and going nowhere. This is his club, his team, his city and he loves his life here. I am under no illusion.

Zidane said via the Real Madrid website in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Valencia match.

On the possibility of Ronaldo getting a new deal, the Frenchman says money is not the problem, but he won't want to interfere with contract issues.

Money is not my issue, It is between the player and the club. It has nothing to do with me.
Zidane added.

This will come as a timely reassurance to fans as the football world awaits the usual frenetic end of this year's summer transfer window which closes on Thursday. A lot of players will be making late minute move, but one can be rest assured that Ronaldo won't be switching clubs.
