New Real Madrid star injured

Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo is injured the club have confirmed.

The 20 year old returned to Real Madrid this summer after spending last season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt.

"Following tests carried out on Jesús Vallejo at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a muscle strain in his left thigh. His recovery will continue to be assessed." An official statement from the club reads.

He made his debut for Real Madrid against Manchester City during the club's preseason tour of America. He also played in friendlies against Barcelona in Miami and the MLS All Star team.

He wasn't on the bench for the UEFA Super Cup clash against Manchester United, and may have to wait a little longer before making his competitive debut.

He sure will be out of the Spanish Super Cup ties against Barcelona.
