Zinedine Zidane rated second best football manager in 2017
The Real Madrid manager has been named second best football manager in 2017 by popular football magazine and website FourFourTwo
The French legend was appointed Real Madrid manager just over 18 months ago, and has won the Champions League back to back, the La Liga title, the UEFA Super Cup and the World Club Cup.
Zidane managed the Real Madrid Castilla for two years before taking over the first team. Without much managerial experience, Zidane has shown that at times, experience is not all that matters.
He has been praised for the calmness, great understanding control of the Real Madrid dressing room and fantastic squad rotation abilities.
Despite not having enough playing time as they desire, Zidane has managed to keep top players like James Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata and co. fairly happy at the club.
Without any marquee signing since taking over, Zidane has oversaw the development and integration of players like Asensio, Lucas Vasquez and Casimiro into the first team.
In less than two years, he has won has won as many Champions Leagues as Mourinho, Ferguson or Guardiola. And according to FFT, "has become the first since Arrigo Sacchi to win successive European Cups – a feat nobody had managed in 27 years"
