Will this end Manchester City's chase for Danilo?
Manchester City have agreed a deal worth £52m with AS Monaco for left back Mendy. This according to the BBC.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed his club's interest in both Mendy and Danilo before their pre-season friendly with Manchester United on Thursday.
City signed Tottenham right back Kyle Walker for £45m earlier this month.
Now that Mendy, a left back is joining the Citizens, chances that the club will want to sign another wing back may be slim.
Danilo can play as either a right or left back. He made 17 appearances in the La Liga last season, starting in all the league matches he played in.
He played a key role in Madrid's double triumph last season, but remains behind Marcello and Cavajal who featured ahead of him in the Champions League final.
