Real Madrid agree Alvaro Morata exit deal with Chelsea
Real Madrid have announced that the club have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the sale of Alvaro Morata to the Premier League Champions.
A deal is subject to the player passing his medical at the London club.
"Real Madrid C. F. and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Álvaro Morata, subject to the player completing his medical." An official statement from the club reads. The club also thanked the player for his professional conduct all through his stay at the club.
The 24 year old has been linked with a Real Madrid exit for most of the summer. He was closely linked with a move to Manchester United, but both teams couldn't agree a deal.
United needed up signing Romelu Lukaku, who had also been linked with a return to Chelsea.
Morata has also been linked with a move to AC Milan in recent days, but any hope for such move had been quashed.
Morata, joined the Real Madrid Castilla in 2008, and made his senior debut in 2010. He moved to Juventus in 2014.
The striker had two impressive seasons at Juventus, before Real Madrid triggered a buyback clause in his contract.
He scored 15 goals from 26 La Liga matches last season, starting most matches from the bench. He was behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order of centre forwards at Madrid.
According to the BBC, the deal is about £60m. Morata becomes Real Madrid's highest selling player behind Angel di Maria.
