4-3-3: Predicted Real Madrid starting eleven Vs Juventus: Bale benched, Isco starts
Real Madrid are seeking to become the first club to win the UEFA Champions League back to back as they travel to Cardiff for a date with Italian champions Juventus.
Both teams have enjoyed domestic success this season already. Madrid wrapped up their first La Liga title in five years with a last day win over Malaga.
Juve on their part continued their recent dominance of Italian football winning the double. Both the Scudetto and Italian Cup.
Zidane's biggest selection headache going into this match is the availability of Gareth Bale. The decision weather to start the Welsh winger ahead of an inform and effective Isco is a big one. Other than that, Madrid's team selection is a pretty straight one.
Keylor Navas has been Madrid's first choice goalkeeper for most of the season and should start in goal. Second choice Kiko Casilla who has made 19 appearances this season will be on the bench.
The big boost for Madrid defensively coming into this match is the timely return of right back Dani Carvajal. He is better and more preferred to Danilo. Carvajal has been training for more than a week now and should start at right back.
Captain Sergio Ramos and Rafael Varane would most likely start at centre back. This means the duo of Nacho and Pepe will be on the bench. Varane is defensively better than Nacho, while Pepe hasnt had enough playing time recently to put him in a good position for a start.
Marcelo is one of the guaranteed starters in the current Madrid setup. He starts at left back.
The trio of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro have been key for Madrid this season and it will be difficult for Zidane to bench any of the trio from the start.
The possibility of starting Isco and Bale together in an all attacking side may be tempting, and could see Zindane bench any of the three, but that would mean more work and pressure for a fragile midfield, and defence.
Depending on whether its a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3, Isco could be starting on the wing or in an advanced attacking central role. More like a number 10 behind the strikers.
Isco should be a better option to Bale. The Welshman is just retuning from injury and throwing him straight into a final ahead of Isco, who is currently on form will mean Zidane is relying more on individuals more than team play. Bale had never reached the lofty heights this season. He however shouldn't be totally written of for this match, but coming on from the bench with his speed and game changing abilities could be a huge factor for the Los Blancos in the match.
C. Ronaldo and Karim Benzema completes the team on the attack.
