Real Madrid 1-1 Levante : Player Ratings

Real Madrid dropped points for the second league game in a row, as the team had to come from behind to snatch a 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu.

Zidane benched a number of regulars, starting with a fairly solid side, that failed to live up to expectations.

Gareth Bale and Isco started from the bench while Casemiro didn't taste the action. Luka Modric, Keylor Navas and Varane were all left out of the match day squad.  Ronaldo missed the game as he sat out the fourth match of his five match ban.

Goals from Ivi in the 12 minute and Lucas Vazquez in the 36 minute set the proceedings for what could have been a high scoring match. But lack of clinical finishing especially from the Real Madrid players ensured that the match ended in a draw.

Here's a rating of the Real Madrid players

Casilla

Made some decent saves and was commanding. He couldn't have done anything to prevent the goal conceded and must be disappointed with a number of the players in front of him. (6)

Dani Carvajal

Was solid defensively, making a number of timely tackles and blocks, but was the main suspect for the goal conceded. He switched off at a crucial time, and in a split of the second, the visitors took the lead.  He saw the ball often in an attacking position, but his crosses didn't make the perfect connection. (5)

Sergio Ramos

A typical spirited Sergio Ramos performance. Was solid defensively and marshalled the troop. His partly saved header led to the Real Madrid goal. (6)

Nacho

Didn't do much wrong and couldn't have done any better. (6)

Theo Hernandez

Zidane employed the youngster in a more attacking role, and he struggled. He lacked the attacking instincts to open up the defence and understandably didn't fit in. (6)

Toni Kroos

The German making his 100th La Liga appearance, was the most experienced midfielder in the Real Madrid lineup. He lived up to the billing with a number of goal probing shots, and had the last one in the dying minute of the match hit the woodwork. (6.5)

Llorente

Kept things moving, but wasn't too influential. (5)

Lucas Vázquez

Scored the goal that brought Madrid back into the game, and that was all from the winger, who could have done better on some occasions. (5)

Marcelo

Combined well with Theo on the left flank, but the cutting edge was lacking. Got into decent attacking positions, but the spark was missing. Sent off late on. (6)

Marco Asensio

A rather silent performance from the youngster. Had a decent shot at goal saved, didn't have enough of the ball in shooting areas and wasn't effectively penetrative. (5)

Karim Benzema

Another below par display from the Frenchman who was was substituted in the first half due to injury. (4)

Substitutes

Gareth Bale

Had a couple of decent goal scoring chances but couldn't convert. Another poor day in the office for the Welshman whose starting place in the team should be under threat now. (3)

Isco

Came on and brought some life into the game, connected the midfield to attack in a more dynamic way but the winning gaol was lacking. (6)

Kovacic

Came on too late. No ratings.
